The American Idol addict is back with her comments on tonights show...
First of all, I'd like to give a round of applause to everyone for a job well done!! They've made it this far and sadly one of them will be leaving tomorrow night.
So the show kicked off with Ramiele Malubay singing Carrie Underwood's revival of "Alone." I'm actually proud of her to have finally picked a song that could really show the "big voice inside the small package," but then I just thought that the song was a wee-bit too big for her. I reckon though that she'll easily sail her way through Top 9 - she has the
oh so ever great DANNY NORIEGA to support her :).
After commercial break, Jason Castro sang "Fragile" by Sting and I'm sad to say that it was not good. I definitely think that he should lose the guitar and focus more on his singing - like when he sang "Hallelujah" before making it into Top 24. I thought the Spanish was sexy - but I couldn't hear it that well :S. And I'm not trying to be rude, but at first I thought Jason wasn't wearing any pants when he first walked out into the stage! :S.
Right after Jason Castro performed, Syesha Mercado performed "If I were your Woman" by Stephanie Mills. I found the baby cry on her interview cute! But too bad I don't actually find her all that "cute." I don't know - I just don't think she has that star potential, no offense.
Chikezie (I always have to look back on how to spell his name, LOL) performed "If only for one Night" by Luther Vandross. I thought it was quite good but a bit old fashioned. I loved his performance "She's A Woman" on the Top 12 night. And correct me if I'm wrong - but I thought he looked a bit pissed off after Simon made his comment...
Ah the pure and innocent Brooke White - her interview in the beginning reminded me of my sister, you know, the ability to play a song just by hearing it. My sister managed to play Beethoven's Für Elise on the piano just by hearing it! Okay, well enough of my sister... Brooke White performed "Every Breath you Take" by The Police. I thought Brooke was pretty lucky that she wasn't singing with the band in the very beginning - she would've NEVER had the chance to stop and go back. The song was nice, but I thought Brooke should've done the whole song just with the piano and not the band.
Michael Johns... OH MY GOD MICHAEL JOHNS!! HE TOOK MY BREATH AWAY!! I remember my friend
(who shall remain unknown), if I'm not mistaken, said that she's starting to lose faith in Michael for he hasn't had his "moment" yet. I was certain that this week would be HIS shining moment... And guess what? IT WAS!! *claps* I'm proud of you Michael! Michael Johns performed... Well what did he perform? He kicked off with "We Will Rock You," and then "We are the Champions" both by Queen. There's no doubt that he will make it into the Top 9 - and possibly in the Top 3!

Right after Michael, Carly Smithson took on "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler which I thought was alright - but on a serious note, I don't know why but I just don't have the likes for Carly Smithson. Maybe it's because I thought she was a bit corny last week with the explanation of why she chose the song "Blackbird." Seriously, she already has an album - can't she give it to someone else? No offense to any Carly supporters out there.
DAVID ARCHULETA!! OMG IS THAT SERIOUSLY YOUR GIRLFRIEND? I'M SO PISSED!! YOU'VE BROKEN THE HEARTS OF MILLIONS OF GIRLS OUT THERE!! Anyway, I'm not going to talk about this "lover girl" of his, but if you want to read more, here's the link:
David Archuleta has a Girlfriend? David Archuleta performed "You're The Voice" by an Australian Composer - definitely Australian seeing as David's version of the song was compared to Guy Sebastian's You're The Voice. It didn't get me up and jumping (maybe because of the whole who-is-he-taking-to-prom thing) but it was definitely good - HE'S ALWAYS GOOD! Let's just hope that what Rickey said comes around ;).
Kristy Lee Cook - for weeks she had been hated by a number of people, cursing that she should've been out instead of David Hernandez (Top 12 Elimination) and Amanda Overmeyer (Top 11 Elimination)... Well, tonight I guess she DEFINITELY blew Simon out of his socks, it was the BEST PERFORMANCE ever yet by Kristy. Kristy Lee Cook performed "God Bless the USA" and got good remarks throughout the three judges... I'm sorry to say that she is DEFINITELY NOT going to get out this week... So who will? :S.
And last but not least, David Cook closes the Top 10 performance with a great rendition of "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson. I have never heard the song been sung like that - and it was awesome! And come to think of it, I actually thought that it' be super cool if they had a Michael Jackson week and I imagined Danny Noriega singing "Thriller" and even dancing to it - FUN! But back to David Cook - the judges have it right - he is the one to beat...definitely.
Want more shocking idol news? Decide whether you think Carly Smithson is pregnant or not:
Is Carly Smithson Pregnant?My predictions,
Top 3:1. Michael Johns
2. David Cook
3. David Archuleta
Bottom 3:1. Jason Castro
2. Ramiele Malubay
3. Chikezie Eze
I reckon that Ramiele would sit down first, and then it'd be between Jason and Chikezie... Jason would probably be put in the Bottom 3 as a wake up call and get him to do better next week. So my pick for tomorrow night's elimination would be Chikezie.
