The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s American Idol Top 5 performance.
As you would’ve known from my previous entry, tonight is...
NEIL DIAMOND week.
Tonight each Idol will be singing two songs and I just can’t wait to know what David Archuleta♥ is going to sing tonight...
The show kicks of with Jason Castro performing “Forever in Blue Jeans” by Neil Diamond – WOW... All I can say that his voice is so angelic. It wasn’t as good as Hallelujah and Somewhere over the Rainbow but it was very sentimental and very soothing to the mind. While still keeping that in thought, my exams are coming up in two weeks and I remember in one of the Study Sessions we had; one of the advices were to listen to the “right” music that will help keep us relaxed and focused on our studies. I’ll definitely listen to Jason Castro for that :). He has one of the purest voices on American Idol along with David Archuleta♥ GO JASON CASTRO – the song was lovely. Two thumbs up on a job well done. It was the perfect song choice for you!
Up next, David Cook performs “I’m Alive” by Neil Diamond – he had Neil goosebumps during his practice run with him. Honestly, I did not like his performance this week in comparison to Mariah Carey and Andrew Lloyd Webber week. Maybe it as because of him choosing a song that isn’t that well known – but the thing is, you can’t really blame the song choice for really I’ve never heard the song “Forever in Blue Jeans” that Jason Castro sang earlier but because the way he sang it made me love it.
Next, Brooke White performs “I’m a Believer” by Neil Diamond – one of my favourite songs but Brooke TOTALLY killed it! That was terrible! She shouldn’t have picked up the guitar to go along with the song seeing as she had the band already. To be honest, the movie ‘Shrek’ appeared on my mind I thought Donkey sang it better... To me, this doesn’t look like a promising comment from me if I were one of the judges – so watch out Brooke! If you don’t do better on the second song you’re up for elimination from me!
David Archuleta♥ takes the stage next performing “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond – AMAZING as usual! HA! Anti-David Archuleta people can now eat their words saying that he’s so boring and only sings ballads... What do you call this performance now? AMAZING OF COURSE! Loved it – David Archuleta♥ has once again captured me into his allure. *Screams* I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA♥ I hope to hear you do amazingly once more in your second song!
Syesha Mercado next performs “Hello Again” by Neil Diamond – I thought it was okay but not as good last weeks. But wow she has amazing vocals! Seriously to be perfectly honest, Syesha Mercado is the only American Idol contestants on the whole of Season 7 who I’ve seen improve throughout the weeks. Having said that, I still don’t want her to win American Idol...
At the end of the first performance... wow, after Randy made his comments, it was Paula’s turn which SHOCKED the world completely into thinking that the show is definitely rigged! The contestants only sang their first song and already Paula was referring to her so-called ‘notes’ and commenting on Jason Castro’s second song... *moment of awkward silence* WTF Paula? And I can’t believe how Randy, Simon and Ryan helped her cover up her f*cked up mistake – seriously... That was so low Paula! And to be perfectly honest, how could Paula say that the comment was for David Cook when she clearly said... “I thought your second song though...” The show is so totally rigged – however I won’t be mad about that fact if David Archuleta is crowned winner of the American Idol 2008. But if David Archuleta isn’t the winner – F*CK THE PRODUCERS! Anyway, to cut long story short, according to Simon Cowell:
Jason Castro – Forgettable
David Cook – Just above average
Brooke White – Nightmare
David Archuleta – Amateur-ish (Randy thought though that he was THE BOMB)
Syesha Mercado – Old fashioned
After the quick recap and Paula’s flub, Jason Castro was back on singing his second song of the night “September Morn” by Neil Diamond – and I thought that he didn’t really give it his best shot however I think the judges were a bit harsh on him tonight. He’ll definitely make it into Top 4 though – I hope. But still, GO JASON CASTRO WE LOVE YOU DOWN HERE IN BRUNEI!!!
The show is moving on pretty fast! Okay, up next David Cook performs “All I really need is You” by Neil Diamond – once again I’ve never heard this song before but having said that, I think he did better on this song that the first one but still not as good as the previous two weeks. I wouldn’t be surprised though if he made bottom 3 or 2 tomorrow night. The judges loved it though. Simon – so NOT brilliant! Always be my Baby was brilliant!
Once again Brooke White was invited to the stage to sing “I Am...I Said” by Neil Diamond – no comment... Like seriously. The judges liked it but I didn’t... I think she’s definitely up for elimination tomorrow night – she seriously has to go! No offense to any Brooke White fans.
OH MY GOSH! David Archuleta is on a roll today with upbeat songs! Anti-David Archuleta’s can definitely eat their words tonight! David Archuleta♥ was amazing once more singing “America” by Neil Diamond. He seriously took my breath away and made me so happy to see him do not one but TWO upbeat songs tonight. *sigh* I love him♥ He’s definitely in my Top 3 tonight... What am I saying? HE’S ALWAYS IN MY TOP 3!
Syesha Mercado then closes the show with “Thank the Lord for the Night Time” by Neil Diamond – I thought it was excellent! But to be honest, I’m really scared now that Jason Castro could also be up for elimination tonight and Syesha would so totally be safe tomorrow night. Simon Cowell said though that Syesha Mercado may be in trouble tonight because of her not so memorable second song like the other contestants.

The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s elimination round...
Okay first off I have to admit that I already know who is going home – thanks to spoilers! LOL. Oh well, all I can say that I am SO FRICKING HAPPY with the results! I don’t know who the other two are though that made up the bottom 3 – but we’ll find out in just a bit. That’s right; I’m not going to spoil it now otherwise my blog entry for today would be too short! So read on or scroll down if you DESPERATELY want to know who got eliminated tonight.
HAHA OMG THAT WAS SO FRICKING FUNNY! When Ryan introduced the judges he hi5-ed Randy Jackson, kissed Paula Abdul on the cheek and kissed Simon Cowell on the head! HILARIOUS! Okay – after the commotion, the show kicked off with a group number by the American Idol Top 6 finalists performing “All I Ask of You” by Andrew Lloyd Webber. To be perfectly honest – I didn’t like to performance. I still preferred the group number they did when they sang “9 to 5” during Dolly Parton week. Oh well – it just wasn’t a favourite of mine...
After the group number they showed a recap of last nights show... Randy admitted to last night being one of the toughest nights of the season. After the recaps, Ryan had a little interview with Andrew Lloyd Webber onstage. LOL and he thought that Jason Castro was the only one who didn’t take his advices. Ryan also asked Andrew if he were to write a song for Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell it would be titles “Time to say Goodbye” – HAHA.
After the interview, the showed a clip from President George Bush and the First Lady giving updates on Idol Gives Back and claimed that America has raised over $65million to help people in Africa with Aids and Malaria. Ryan dove into the results after the clip and showed that there are two stools to be filled for “bottom 2” and the safe sofas. Ryan called out the two David’s first and the crowd went crazy screaming their names out! These two are definitely safe tonight! AND THEY ARE BOTH SAFE!!! WOOOOOOOOOO~ I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA♥ and will be working with Neil Diamond next week! Heads-up on next week’s theme! Oh my gosh – I was seriously so freaked out when
After determining David Archuleta♥ and David Cook’s future – Ryan invited Leona Lewis to the stage as she performed her #1 hit “Bleeding Love.” WHOO GO LEONA! ♪I don’t care what they say; I’m in love you, they try to pull me away but they don’t know truth...♫ WOW – I loved the fire background! They should so totally do it during the finale when they announce the winner David Archuleta♥ BOO YAH! I really love Leona Lewis’ dress and the colour really suits her well with her skin tone.
After Leona Lewis’ performance, Ryan called out Syesha Mercado and Brooke White out together - *beep* I spy that Brooke White will be the first to sit on the stools but amazingly... America had decided to put Brooke White through to the next round and Syesha in the bottom 2 – WOW. Even Brooke White was shocked to know that she’s safe! This is so fannoying, like seriously – even I think Syesha Mercado did a better job that Brooke White last night. Now this just proves that American Idol is more on popularity than talent seeing as Syesha doesn’t really have a powerful personality. But then again I can’t say that I’m shocked to see Syesha Mercado in the bottom 2 seeing as she has had many good weeks but always happen to fall into the bottom 3.
Next up Ryan called the last two contestants who waited patiently backstage – Jason Castro and Carly Smithson. So who do you think is going to join Syesha Mercado in the stools? Jason Castro – WRONG... Carly Smithson. It was so cute how Jason Castro kept on making funny faces throughout his course of standing in the middle of the stage. Carly squinted when she found out she was in the bottom 2 – Jason Castro, being his charming self, stood next to Carly Smithson while Ryan talked on with the judges getting their reactions on tonight’s bottom 2. Simon thought that Brooke White shouldn’t have been in the safe side and thought that Jason Castro didn’t do that well but was charming. Ryan then invited Carly Smithson to sing one more time onstage with “Jesus Christ Superstar.” After Carly’s performance, Ryan then invited Syesha to sing “One Rock ‘n’ Roll Too Many” once more... As of now – results have not been determined yet; but do any of you out there have a clue who?
Conspiracy theory of a boy-girl boy-girl elimination? I guess it’s not true tonight! David Archuleta♥, David Cook and Jason Castro for TOP 3 on American Idol 2008!
After the nationwide vote... Hold on for a while – Randy said that this is definitely a popularity vote night seeing as he thought that the Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson did well last night. And the person leaving the competition tonight is... CARLY SMITHSON! I’m so happy that Carly finally leaves us tonight – but I seriously had my money on Brooke White leaving tonight. But none the less I’d be lying if I said I don’t really care on who leaves at this point of the competition because I seriously don’t! All I care about now is that DAVID ARCHULETA♥ is still in the running for the crown of 2008’s American Idol winner – AND WILL WIN!
Remember next week...
NEIL DIAMOND WEEK!

The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s Top 6 performances...
As you may all be aware, I am actually typing this while watching the show – so I’ll save my top/bottom 3 predictions to the last :).
So as you all know from my post last week,
Today is Andrew Lloyd Webber week!
And WOW did they really expand the band until the stage! HAHA, and the thing that Ryan did with the conductor stick was funny when he stopped the orchestra from playing... But now back to the show...
First up today we have Syesha Mercado performing “One Rock ‘n’ Roll Too Many” from Starlight Express by Andrew Lloyd Webber – It’s a nice song choice for her, so I wonder how she’s going to do. Well – aside from messing up the first part, she did pretty awesome. HAHA Rickey was hilarious! I pretty sure that if no one does a hell load better than she does, she can definitely make it back next week. Randy thought that Syesha could be a Broadway performer and that this was one of her best performances. Paula thought she brought the house down and Simon thought she was “sexy” with the lying-on-the-piano thing.
Ryan: “Rickey, you’re a conductor tonight not one of the Pussycat Dolls…”
After Syesha Mercado, we have Jason Castro performing “Memory” by Andrew Lloyd Webber – Ouch. To be perfectly honest, this is gonna be a toughie for Jason – but who knows? Let’s wait and see until he does the performance (yes, right now is commercial break).
Ryan: “Let’s see if he can overcome this *uhhh* of his…”
This is one of my favourite songs and I hope he does well – Andrew thinks he can definitely pull it off. Oh my gosh, I seriously love the way how Jason Castro shows emotion and passion when singing his songs. I thought that Jason Castro did a pretty good job! I don’t fricking understand why the judges hated it! Randy; a train wreck? FUDGESTICKS! It was lovely, moving and very sentimental! Simon… How could you say it wasn’t his style of music? IT WAS and it was so good – though I must admit that I could see him struggling a bit while he sang the song, but what the heck.
After Jason Castro, Brooke White performs “You Must Love Me” from the film adaptation of Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Honestly – I would most probably like to see Brooke do “Don’t Cry for me Argentina,” but then I don’t think she would’ve pulled it off seeing as to me, she has got that bigger voice within her. I think that her consistent voice may eliminate her from the competition if she doesn’t start taking risks. But anyway, back to her performance. When they showed the clip of her meeting with Andrew Lloyd Webber showed that she didn’t really know the background of the song which could mean that her performance tonight may lack emotion. OH MY GOSH! How unprofessional of her to start again! Well – this brought back memories of when she performed on the piano by herself. Well that was alright seeing as she could start on the piano and not have to disrupt the band. Actually – all in all, she sung the song quite well! She actually showed emotion while singing the song and brought out the bigger voice that I’ve never seen before. I agreed with Randy that some points of the song wasn’t that good. Paula was kind off speechless saying that she should never “start and stop.” Simon thought the beginning was dramatic and thought that with that kind of start it made her voice shaky. I definitely think that it’s going to be her pick at elimination; I could feel the tension within her and the audience – it was all really quiet and surprisingly no one boo-ed!
Next up after Brooke White we have DAVID ARCHULETA♥ performing “Think of Me” from the Phantom of the Opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber – PHANTOM OF THE OPERA one of my favourite musicals! Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope he does a smashing job! Oh my gosh – I can’t believe Ryan called up the girls to hug him! I ENVY THEM! I WANT TO BE ONE OF THEM! Okay, back to the show – Andrew knew that the song was made for a diva and for a girl to be sung. He never thought that a boy could do it and told David to open his eyes. OH MY GOSH! HE WAS AWESOME! I LOVED IT! Rickey said that he flubbed and forgot the lyrics towards the end of the song – and I was like, WTF? He just went really low at that point! GOSH people stop bombarding David Archuleta! Anyway both Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul loved him however Simon thought that it was one of his weakest performances and forgettable, but said that it would definitely put him thought the next round. I’m actually really worried now! Will America place him in the bottom 3 tomorrow night? *knocks on wood* HELL NO! I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA♥ and THUMBS UP on the gang sign :).
Next up was Carly Smithson – her first choice was actually a song from Phantom of the Opera but was however stopped by Andrew for he did not think that it was the right song for her. Instead Carly is now performing “Jesus Christ Superstar” from Jesus Christ Superstar by Andrew Lloyd Webber. What can I say – I hated the performance. Okay, now I feel bad for saying that I hated it only because the song had Jesus’ name in it. I just thought that she shouldn’t have sung it THAT angrily. Randy thought it wasn’t her best performance but thought she did a good job. Simon thought it got a bit shouty but thought it WAS indeed her best performance. To be honest – I thought the shirt that said “Simon Loves Me (this week)” spelt d-e-s-p-e-r-a-t-e much!
After Carly Smithson, David Cook once again closes the show with “Music of the Night” by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Andrew said that this was one of the sexiest songs he had ever written. WOW – David Cook blew me out of my socks tonight I have to admit! He should go Broadway! And I thought he could only rock-it-out but he can do slow songs too! And this performance proved that he’s in it to win it! WOW – it felt like I was at an Opera! Randy thought it was amazing while Paula thought it was fantastic. Simon Cowell however didn’t like this side him – he preferred the “rock” side of him. Okay – I am seriously freaked out that David Cook has the chance of winning over David Archuleta♥ :( This is seriously pissing me off…
My Top 3 for tonight: David Archuleta♥, David Cook and… well to be perfectly honest – I only have a Top 2 tonight.
And to be perfectly honest again, it’s going to be hard for me to pick exactly a bottom 3 tonight, but my pick at elimination for tomorrow night will be Brooke White.

OH MY GOSH!!! XD. I SO HOPE I %^&*ING DO!

Dear Diary...Yesterday I rang up a
LONG-time best friend of mine who is currently here on a two week vacation from London. I convinced him to come to school today - but he said he'll try. Too bad he didn't come.
He'll be leaving Brunei tomorrow and who knows when he'll be back again.
GOOD LUCK and have a safe flight back to London!

The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s elimination round... Ryan once again mentioned about Michael Johns’ elimination last week and claimed that “anything” could happen...
They kicked of the show as usual with a group number – Jason’s solo was sentimental while Kristy’s... hrmmmm, no comment there but David Archuleta’s solo was so short! Oh well I still love him♥
So my bottom 3 as determined last night is to be: Calry Smithson, Syesha Mercado and Kristy Lee Cook – however after reading Rickey’s picks, he thinks that Brooke White would be eliminated tonight... Let’s see what happens – but before they got on to the eliminations they recapped last nights performances and it was so good to hear David Archuleta♥ once more and David Cook too...
After the recaps on last nights performances, they called out Jason Castro first but didn’t determine whether he’s in the bottom 3 or safe, but asked him to start a group on the far right side of the stage. I LOVE THE GROUPING thing; I’ve been waiting for this to happen! Okay, so next they called out David Cook and told him to start another group at the other end of the stage – are we looking at two or three groups tonight? Because if two groups... Jason Castro has a possibility of being in the bottom 3 because it’s far from possible that David Cook would be in the bottom 3. Next they called out Carly Smithson and Simon told her that he’s being harsh on her just to give her that “extra” push. Carly then joined Jason Castro on the other end of the stage... This looks bad... Next, Kristy Lee Cook was called out and guess what? She joined David Cook – damn, Kristy Lee Cook is sheer definite safe tonight...
They then took a break from the determination of tonight’s bottom 3 and invited Elliott Yamin to the stage to perform a number “Free,” – it’s Elliot Yamin! My favourite contestant along with Chris Daughtry from American Idol Season 5 – Elliot managed to place 3rd runner up along with Katherine McPhee and the winner of American Idol Season 5 Taylor Hicks. To be honest – I love Elliot Yamin, but I still prefer his song “Wait For You” than the number he performed tonight, but he’s still good and fine looking ;). I felt so sad that he lost his mother a couple of weeks ago – but I like how he’s still in his game.
After Elliot Yamin’s performance, they went back to the results. They called out Syesha Mercado and told her to join Jason Castro and Carly Smithson. Next Brooke White was called out and they reinforced Simon’s figure of speech about ordering a hamburger and only getting the bun – Ryan then told her to join David Cook and Kristy Lee Cook. Backstage – David Archuleta♥ waits wondering what the hell is going on (according to Ryan that is). I think I know what is going to happen – Ryan is probably going to ask David Archuleta to pick a group that he thinks is the Top group... I remember last year they did this to Melinda Doolittle and she didn’t want to pick a group because she thought everyone of them was good. She then ended up sitting on stage in the middle of the groups.
But before they called out David Archuleta♥, they took some calls. The calls were for Kristy Lee Cook, the judges, Paula Abdul (and during hers she gave a shout out to David Archuleta♥ and Jason Castro), Simon Cowell and David Cook. David Cook’s question was that the caller wanted to know if he was single – and he is! LOL.
Next, they invited Mariah Carey to sing a single from her new album E=MC2 “Bye Bye,” – I really like her black dress or is it like a dress but then shorts for the bottom part of her attire? Whatever – it’s so cute! I was actually looking forward to hearing Mariah performing “Touch My Body” and see Randy Jackson get up on stage with her seeing as last night Ryan teased Randy about itching to perform Touch My Body...
After Mariah Carey’s performance they went back to the results and recapped the groups. Ryan then called out David Archuleta♥ and asked him if he’s getting more and more comfortable each week – screams then came from the crowd. DAVID ARCHULETA♥ IS SAFE! They then made Syesha Mercado and David Cook switch places because Ryan said there were too many Cook’s in the house... Ryan then made David Archuleta♥ pick the group that he thinks is the Top group. David Archuleta♥ was so cute! He didn’t want to pick a group, so he sat down in the middle of the stage. Carly *ugh* had this imaginary rope pulling David Archuleta♥ towards her group... Ryan even hinted to David Archuleta♥ that David Cook, Carly Smithson and Jason Castro are the top group – but he still didn’t want to join them. So what happened? They joined David Archuleta♥ in the middle of the stage and sat down with him – only Carly Smithson didn’t sit down because she was wearing a high-waist skirt. Oh my gosh! She seriously needs to back of from my David Archuleta♥ - I mean you have a husband already!
Photo above was aquired from Rickey...
Okay so tonight’s bottom three was – Syesha Mercado, Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White. Syesha was sent to safety and it was between Kristy Lee Cook and Brooke White. Simon Cowell claimed that Kristy’s time was up and got a disgusted look from Brooke White. FINALLY – I’m so fucking HAPPY that KRISTY LEE COOK IS OUT OF THE COMPETITION! She was long due and should’ve been out before Michael Johns – well, no surprise this week... It was just perfect! I was so scared when David Cook and KLC were in the same group – I was just like fuck, Kristy is going to be in for another week... But I’m still pissed that Carly wasn’t in the bottom 3 tonight; I seriously didn’t think that she deserved to be in the Top group tonight. I guess she got it only because they thought her road kill version of Ken Lee – I mean, “Without You” was memorable... (because of Ken Lee).
DAVID ARCHULETA♥ FOR THE WIN!!
It’s not confirmed yet... but next week may be Andrew Lloyd Webber week…
Labels: American Idol
The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s Top 7 performances – and I have to admit that I’m still pretty torn up about Michael Johns’ elimination last week… But as Carly sang last week, “The Show Must Go On!” In the end there can only be one winner, but everyone is a winner in each individual person’s heart. Looks like Ryan himself is still in shock after send Michael Johns home…
This week is MARIAH CAREY WEEK
and I have been worrying myself over the week – this is certainly going to be a tough night for the guys… But I know David Archuleta♥ will do awesomely well once again!
The show kicks off first with my beloved one, David Archuleta♥ singing, “When You Believe” by Mariah Carey. First thing, I would just like to say that this is the first time I’m seeing David Archuleta without a jacket or blazer on a performance night – and he’s wearing red (maroon?), my favourtie colour ahhh! Was he wearing leather pants? AHHH HOT HOT HOT! Personally, this is one of my favourite songs sung by Mariah Carey – and I fell in love with the song after hearing it on “Prince of Egypt.” Okay, enough blabber, let’s talk about the show… excuse me while I search the bottom of the ocean; I think my heart fell in there while he was singing the song. IT WAS SO GOOD! Tears nearly ran down my face… And he did the sign again! I love him♥ He is definitely the one to beat in this competition! Hell no not David Cook…
Next, Carly Smithson takes the stage with “Without You” by Mariah Carey – personally, after knowing what song she’d be singing tonight, I would always imagine Carly singing “Ken Lee.” I’m not being mean or anything – it’s just instincts. I think she killed the song with her version. Simon was right; the guys will have it easier this week because they won’t necessarily be compared to the original. Carly compared to the original… No comment. People! Why are you boo-ing? Simon is so totally right – she wasn’t THAT good, nor did I actually think she was okay-ish. ♫Ken Lee tulibu dibu douchoo…♪ LOL. Definitely bottom 3 – but then again it’s too early to say seeing as Kristy Lee Cook hasn’t performed yet…
Syesha Mercado then takes the stage performing “Vanishing” by Mariah Carey. To be honest, I’ve never actually heard this song before – so it’s just quite new to me and I can’t really compare it to the original seeing as I’ve never heard it before. But anyhow, I just thought it was okay. It didn’t really blow me of my seat, but I like her long, exaggerated notes. The judges gave her mixed reviews – Randy thought that she likes picking the ‘hard songs’ and did a good job with this song. Paula was her usual self and Simon said it was very good indeed however is running a risk of choosing songs that many people don’t know and tells her to be “cautious.” AHHH! He said that David Archuleta♥ was the one to beat!
After Syesha Mercado, we have Brooke White singing “Hero” by Mariah Carey. On Rickey, this song was actually suggested for Jason Castro, but then I was a bit worried that the song wouldn’t suit for Jason – so good for Jason he has a different song! I thought she was quite good even though she biffed it in the end, but as Rickey said, Hero is a memorable song, so people will definitely remember it. I just thought that Brooke could’ve done better – but hey, it’s Brooke… Randy didn’t like the bridge and thought that she was kind off loosing confidence towards the end. Paula… and Simon said it was a bit like ‘ordering a hamburger but only getting the bun.’ Which is quite true actually – her voice couldn’t carry the song that well. But I reckon she could still move on to the next round.
Oh great, next Kristy Lee Cook – go home already will you? I can’t believe Michael Johns got eliminated before you did! No offense to Kristy fans out there, but she sucks-to-the-max. Okay, so after Brooke White, she took the stage with “Forever” by… guess who? But of course Mariah Carey – and once again, this is a song I don’t really know that well which really isn’t that good… actually no wait, it’s good for her because that would mean she’s once again ‘forgettable.’ I thought she delivered the song okay-ish but I’m not too sure if it’d keep her off the bottom 3 tomorrow night. Are we looking at Kristy to be in the bottom 3? But then again the judges liked it in general without any indication of being in trouble – and yes whiny. People stop boo-ing! Kristy Lee Cook has to go!
Oh hey! Ramiele Malubay was in the audience! But back to the show, after the female version of ‘Cook.’ we have David Cook up next with “Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey. I’m not a crazy David Cook fan – but I have to admit that he did the song awesomely good and so original! To be honest, I don’t like David Cook only because of the fear that he could overpower David Archuleta♥ It horrifying! I would probably prefer David Cook to be like Chris Daughtry – not a winner but successful. It was so weird to see him cry! Awwwwwwwwwwwww!~ Why weird – a potential rocker crying? I so agree with Paula; it really suits for a soundtrack in a movie – and I actually hope it does. He doesn’t have my vote though…
HAHAHA. Oh my gosh! Ryan ripped up a poster that was directed for Simon. And last but not least – for the first time since the debut of American Idol 2008, Jason Castro closes the show with “I Don’t Wanna Cry” – I thought it was a great follow up to his ‘Over the Rainbow’ and he sand it pretty well. It was a nice way to close the show! Jason’s facial expressions really show that his gives his heart, mind and soul into singing his songs. Randy didn’t really love the song though and thought it was weird. Paula said she could listen to it all day long and Simon agreed with… Paula and declared that the guys won the night. Don’t worry Jason – your fans won’t be crying tonight!
To sum it all up, in the beginning I thought that this was going to be a really tough night for the boys. Surprisingly – the boys overpowered the girls with Mariah Carey week! GO DAVID ARCHULETA♥ I thought that Kristy Lee Cook should’ve sang Hero instead of Brooke White – it would’ve suited her more.
My pick at bottom 3 for tomorrow night’s elimination are: Carly Smithson, Syesha Mercado and Kristy Lee Cook. Top 3: David Archuleta, David Cook and Jason Castro. Brooke White? Well if there is such thing as bottom four, Brooke would fit into that group.
I think that the person leaving the show tomorrow night is Carly Smithson – Oh my gosh YES FINALLY!

ART EXAM FINALLY OVER!!!
Above is my final examination piece :)

Hello I'm back - and yes, even though I'm gonna be talking about what happened today in school - still a post cannot be posted unless there's a hint of that 'American Idol' touch ;).
But first! Let's talke about school... Yes, my life doesn't just revolve around American Idol - although I must say i spend at least 98% of my time talking about American Idol. So what about the other 2%? Well, I guess I can say the other 2% is used up for BURSTS OF LAUGHTER along with the one and ONLY... Hui Yen Castro.
So today was our fisrt day of oue Final IGCSE Art Exam - no pressure right? I mean it's just FINALS. Who am I kidding, of course there's a LOT of pressure. But well, I guess the pressure eases up a bit when you are somehow 'distracted' from what you're doing. But what was the distraction? LUCAS' PAGLY PRINGE! - I know, it's not funny to you guys but it sure is to Hui Yen and I! Hilarious I tell you ;). Anyway, we spent our lunch break laughing too - at Andu aka Andrew the guy who supposedly got a 'distinction' in English in his old school.
OKAY... American Idol time! This week it's Mariah Carey Week - which I personally think will be quite hard on the guys this week. But I am soooooo sure that David Archuleta♥ will be able to pull it off ;).
Here's a passage acquired of from Rickey:
"According to Simon Cowell’s girlfriend Carly Smithson is singing “Without You” — can Carly top Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Mariah Carey? Is she going to bring the house down? Or will the house come crashing down on her?
For the others, we don’t know but we can speculate:
David Archuleta — Open Arms
Brooke White — I’ll Be There
David Cook — We Belong Together
Jason Castro — Hero
Kristy Lee Cook — I Still Believe (LOL)
Syesha Mercado — Love Takes Time
Michael Johns — Vision of Love"
I know that Michael Johns was eliminated last week - but in an interview on Entertainment Weekly, Michael Johns said that if he was still in the competition, he'd be singing "Vision of Love."
HAHAHA, Oh my gosh this is hilarious! Carly Smithson singing "Without You!" I'm sorry - I know it's not hilarious, but then here goes another one of the inevitable trio inside joke. Somehow the song "Ken Lee" is circling my mind and I'm just laughing at the thought of a Carly version of it. I know - I'm so mean, but no offense, I don't like Carly! Oh and the song choice for David Cook - "We Belong Together" is he like seriously serious? He'd kill the song so badly! I think Jason Castro should have that song to sing :) it'd be more sentimental...

The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s Top 8 elimination round.
I’m not going to say who’s out right now (even thought I know who already) after all the drama and commotion that happened in school today – it was upsetting. I would just like to say to my dearest friend that after my reviews on tonight’s elimination round, this blog post will be DEDICATED to you and the person who is getting out tonight. I love you!♥
So they kicked off the show starting with reviews from last night’s Idol Gives Back. All I can say was that I got pretty emotional when the showed recaps of the videos from Africa and I got even more emotional when the Top 8 took the stage once more with “Shout to the Lord.” They then showed this funny clip where they had the celebrities dance along to the song “Oh when I saw her face, now I’m a believer…”
Brooke White was called first during the determination of the bottom 3… She’s safe! It was funny how Ryan made her read the last line from her card… I wonder if she saw who is going home tonight :S. Next David Cook was called to the stage, “Pompous” – and hey what do you know? David Cook is safe.
Next DAVID ARCHULETA♥ Wow the crowd won’t stop screaming! “CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY HOT!” – Randy Jackson… and he’s SAFE! At the moment, three are safe and five remain backstage waiting to know if it’s the end of the road for them… Oh David I love you! Marry ME!!
Oh no! Not another film from Africa – Angola. It was a story of a little boy – it was so sad. He took Keisha Cole and her husband to their house where he showed where he slept. It was so sad to see that they had only one mattress to share as the sleep on the floor. But then when I watch the video, most of them seem really happy but are just waiting for some miracle to get somehow get off the streets and live a better life. Oh my gosh, I need to stop crying… They’re so cute singing Michael Jackson’s song “We are the World.”
After the very touching video… I can’t believe they had to ruin my emotional mood… Jordin Sparks takes the stage singing her new hit single “No Air.” But its okay – Chris Brown was there. I seriously DO NOT like Jordin Sparks – I don’t know why; I just can’t explain why just as I can’t really reason out why I don’t appreciate Carly Smithson too. Chris Brown was awesome! I hope Jordin and Chris aren’t together – their music video (and performance tonight) seemed like they were really intimate with each other getting all close and touching each other… Gross image! Wow – so many awards… David Archuleta is going to top you Jordin Sparks!
After Jordin’s performance, it was back to results… Jason Castro was called out to the center of the stage; and he is… SAFE! It was funny how Jason made those kooky eyes when he was dramatically waiting for Ryan to decide his American Idol faith. After Jason Castro sat down on the sofas, Kristy Lee Cook was called to the stage… When Ryan had her turn around to face the stools, I actually thought she’d get into the bottom 3… Hallelujah! BUT NO! She’s safe! Oh what the H, E double L is wrong with America! So with five people already on the safe, comfy sofas, that meant that the three still standing backstage (Syesha Mercado, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns) are in the bottom 3 tonight… Syesha Mercado raised her hand up when Ryan was saying “Which one of them is going home tonight?”
Tonight save a life…
Tomorrow save the world.
I found it funny how Hillary Clinton, John McCain and Barrack Obama spoke about Idol Gives Back – good points for the election! I support Obama! Oh my gosh the suspense is killing me! Well it’s not actually killing me since I already know who is out – it’s just that I can’t stand looking at the bottom 3, at that particular person. I just can’t believe America got it wrong.
They’re now recapping the songs they sang two nights ago, and after that… Syesha and Carly are safe. Paula is left opened mouthed and the crowd continuously boo-ed. Oh MY GOD tears are drastically running down my face! Ryan was so mean! Did he really have to emphasise that he got the lowest number of votes? Shit… I can’t stop crying – it wasn’t Michael’s time… Simon is going to miss Michael. Carly is crying, it should’ve been you! I want to give Michael a hug right now!
As promised, my post today will be dedicated to the wonderful Michael Johns. Even though I’m rooting for David Archuleta♥
According to a comment on Rickey: What a cheap, tacky, thoughtless, rude slant: “Last year at this time [the day after Idol Gives Back], we didn’t eliminate anyone at this stage of the competition. Tonight –” *dramatic pause* — we’re saying goodbye to Michael Johns.” What a classy show.
I actually agree with the comment that was made above. It was a sick way for Ryan to have done that to Michael Johns. I mean, he could’ve at least just bid Michael farewell instead of having him think that he’s still safe for another week after recalling back what happened during Idol Gives Back last year where they hadn’t eliminate anyone. It was either that or they DIDN’T eliminate anyone tonight – I reckon they shouldn’t have eliminated anyone tonight even after they knew that it was Michael’s last night. They should’ve talked about keeping Michael in for another week and root to get KLC out the next week – it was just horrible!
Here’s another comment obtained from the official American Idol website: It's horrible that America voted off the most talented and most beautiful voice of all contestants –Michael...Very, very, very wrong choice... I don't think the count was right, I don't believe in the fact that one person can vote as many times as they wish, that's not how America is represented... It's so crazy... Michael was amazing! I can't wait to hear more and more of him, so please Michael, hurry up and put an album on the shelves... I'll be the first one to buy it!
I certainly will buy Michael’s albums when he succeeds over the other contestants (especially Kristy Lee Cook) – just don’t stop singing Michael! You have a very good voice! I reckon you should record more songs that have the classic ‘Queen’ touch to it, and make a studio version of Bohemian Rhapsody! Kristy Lee Cook seriously needs to go home… I can’t believe Michael Johns went before her…
And here’s s final comment from one of his biggest fans:
It was indeed A DAY IN THE LIFE of Michael Johns! You may have been eliminated but you should know that ACROSS THE UNIVERSE you have wowed and made millions of fans in awe with your lovely vocals. You were voted off, but we know that IT'S ALL WRONG BUT IT'S ALRIGHT because together with you are your fans and WE WILL ROCK YOU because for us, YOU ARE THE CHAMPION! You are the only reason why I watched this season. I have been a fan since your glorious rendition of BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY! Please Michael, DONT YOU FORGET ABOUT ME! Cheers!
Michael! You can LIGHT MY FIRE and GO YOUR OWN WAY and DREAM ON because you are a true American Idol in the eyes of millions of people!
Here’s my CD cover album for you to use in your first ever album Michael! Lots of love from Brunei from Coconut, Strawberry and especially your number one fan of all… Pineapple!

The American Idol addict is back with the reviews on tonight’s
Idol Gives Back
Daughtry in Uganda
I’m sorry to say that I won’t be talking about the whole night
It’d just take too long if I talk about every single detail of the two and a half hour long show…
They started off the show with a big bomb where they had the Top 8 finalists singing along with “Don’t Stop the Music” by Rihanna and had dancers from So You Think You Can Dance. I LOVED IT.
After the dance item, there were a few clips shown featuring stars like Kylie Milogue, Ben Stiller, etc. There was then this speech by the First Lady of California There was then a performance by Snoop Dog. I thought the little kids who went on stage with Snoop Dog were really cute.
There were more stars that appeared on the show like Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, Fergie, Reese Whiterspoon, Brad Pitt, Mariah Carey, etc. They were also a few celebrities who made trips to certain parts of Africa and America showing the world how every 35seconds, a child dies because of AIDS, Malaria or because of the lack to access of clean water. I cried loads seeing all those people – it just touched me to see how many people out there actually suffer and made me thankful of what I already have that they don’t…
In between all the real life drama, the Top 8 American Idol finalists sang “Seasons of Love” from Rent. It was awesome.
Somewhere towards the end of the show, there was this little skit performed by Ryan Seacrest, the three judges and the current winner of the Russian Idol (not!). I actually thought they invited the winner of the Russian Idol – but, it was just a joke played by Robin Williams. He then sang in front of the judges –
Paula: “Nice shirt!”
Robin: “Elton John had a garage sale; I just had to buy the shirt.”
The show then closed with a number by Mariah Carey and last but not least, a finale from the Top 8 American Idol finalists singing “Shout to the Lord.”
♫ Shout to the Lord
All the earth
Let us sing
Power and majesty
Praise to the King
Mountains bow down
And the seas will roar
At the sound of Your Name ♪
