The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s Top 9 performance – oh joy right? YES JOY! :P. HAHA! What a way to start the show Ryan – you almost had me fooled – until you mentioned Simon Cowell’s name… Well it’s not April Fool’s here in Brunei anymore! Just to clarify – I am writing this entry while watching the show…
COUNTRY/DOLLY PARTON WEEK
Brooke White started off the show with Jolene… And I thought it was quite good – I mean, it didn’t have me jumping up and down but I thought she had a really nice voice. And I agree with Simon’s comment – she didn’t really show any emotion (as to what Paula said) in comparison to her performance during Lennon/McCartney week when she sang “Let It Be.” Putting all those aside, Brooke will definitely make it in into Top 8 tomorrow depending on how the other performances go.
After Brooke White, we have David Cook performing Little Sparrow… I’m surprised he hasn’t got the whole heavy rock and electric guitar this week. I found his performance a little boring – however the judges loved it. Maybe it’s because I’ve never actually heard the song before. But no doubt he’ll be safe tomorrow.
Ramiele sang Do I Ever Cross Your Mind – I thought the bobbing up and down was cute and I totally agree with Simon in a way that the performance was indeed forgettable and reminiscent of a cruise-ship performance. She had a really cool country tone in her voice though and I thought six and a half out of ten was alright – I have no idea why the crowd was boo-ing… Ramiele has had many bad weeks but manages to stay in the competition without being in the bottom 3 so far. After her performance tonight, I’ve a hunch that she’d be in the bottom 3 tomorrow night.
Jason Castro sang Travellin’ Thru… Before Jason started, he was sitting on the stools with Ryan. I thought the whole postcards-from-the-same-girl was cute and the comment she made about Jason’s voice – so true! Jason’s voice is cool and relaxing. The video in the beginning with Dolly Parton was cute when she tugged on Jason’s dreads. Today Jason was better than last week but not as good as his week with Hallelujah. I disagree with Simon though – it was a good performance and he really stuck to who he really is! GO JASON CASTRO – definitely not bottom 3 tomorrow.

Next up after Jason, we have Carly Smithson singing Here You Come Again – I thought it was nice but like what Simon said, it wasn’t great. HAHA. And I’m glad he made a comment about Carly’s wardrobe!! Well, personally I’ve never liked Carly Smithson so every performance she does is just mediocre to me – no offense to Carly fans, it’s just my opinion… Right now I’m kind of in the middle with Carly as to whether she’d be in the bottom 3 tomorrow or not. David Archuleta sang Smokey Mountain Memories – Dolly Parton tried so hard not to cry! OH MY GOD! PHENOMENAL!! I LOVE HIM!! DAVID ARCHULETA IS BACK!! He sent chills down my spine and showed Simon up this week about his song choices! Excellent! I ♥ David Archuleta!

Kristy Lee Cook performed Coat of Many Colours – as I recall, this song was supposed to be Jason Castro’s pick according to Rickey. When I knew that they’re be doing country week this week – I was really freaked out for Kristy had a really cool country tone to her voice. I was freaked out because that mean that she could still make it in this week – I really want her out – no offense to Kristy fans. Well, I don’t have much of a comment on her performance this week but I thought Randy was really just judging Kristy based on her country tone and not her singing. Sorry Kristy but Simon was right – it was forgettable… I wonder how Jason would’ve sounded like if he sang it instead… Syesha Mercado chose to sang I Will Always Love You that is well known through Whitney Houston’s legendary version. Well – WHAT A SUCCESS! I thought the beginning though was a bit weak only because I compared her to Whitney Houston’s version of the song. But when she hit the chorus… WOW! I LOVED IT! However I won’t be so surprised if she gets into the bottom 3 seeing as she did a MUCH better job last week. So could this be it for Syesha Mercado?
Michael Johns closes the show with It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right - Dolly Parton thinks he should become a star!! I so totally agree with her! WOW Michael hit stardom again! I loved it and he’s definitely in my Top 3 tonight. ♫ Sexy love…

So my pick at bottom 3 for tomorrow would be – Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado and Ramiele Malubay. If Syesha gets lucky this week, she’ll be the first to sit in the comfy sofas while Kristy and Ramiele are left hanging onstage. From here it’s hard to say who from the two would be going home – but if I had to pick – I think it’s time Kristy Lee Cook go home however according to the polls on Rickey, Ramiele had the higher percentage of elimination points alongside with Kristy with the second highest and Syesha third. Want more news? Well according to Rickey, David Cook was hospitalised after experiencing “heart palpitations and high-blood pressure”. He had been completely stressed out because his brother, who has been sick with brain cancer.
