"The Time of My Life," the coronation song that Cook belted out at the close of last week's "Idol" finale, opens at #1 on next week's Billboard Hot Digital Tracks chart, which ranks the best-selling digital singles nationwide. With 236,000-plus downloads, Cook bumps Rihanna's "Take a Bow" from the top spot — but that's not all.
For being this year's "Idol" runner-up, David Archuleta isn't doing so bad himself. While he failed to inspire the sort of download action that Cook has, his take on Elton John's "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" was the country's 23rd-most downloaded song, with sales of nearly 50,700. Two spots behind that, with 49,100 downloads, is his first single, "In This Moment," followed at #36 by his cover of John Lennon's "Imagine," which generated close to 40,000 downloads. Archuleta has 11 other songs on next week's download chart.

While "Idol" producers never confirmed the stories, they never denied them, either. And that was clearly because they were hoping the publicity would help the show regain some of its lost ratings.
In other words, they hung Jeff Archuleta out to dry. And affected 17-year-old David Archuleta toward the end of the season as well.

“He's a more romantic figure. Female fans ache for him. Even crazy ole Paula Abdul admitted getting “goosebumps” when he sang those I-gotta-have-you-or-I'm-gonna-die power ballads. In short, there's an extraordinary, passionate connection between David Archuleta and female fans,” opines O’Neil.
According to O’Neil, “Cook is terrific at stylizing music to give tunes a hip sound, but he doesn't break hearts when he sings. He needs to do that to establish a music career that echoes on.” He also observes that singers from Frank Sinatra to Justin Timberlake have all beat out the competition largely due to their appeal to fans of the opposite sex. - Josiah Leming has a new song!
Here are the lyrics, where Josiah sings about his mother with terminal cancer:
Take me to the church where my father and my mother
Prayed for me and my dear brother
While the angels undercover cursed our names
Children, do you believe in heaven?
Tell me, do you believe in heaven?
‘Cause there’s a place that’s filled with flames
And it’s calling out your name
So you best believe in heaven
With your blind and absent faith
And take me to the park where we played, the light went dark
And even Jesus didn’t matter
’cause our souls were filled with laughter
And our laughter reached to heaven
While our sorrows went to hell
Take me to the fields where my father spent his days
Slaving for a beggar’s wage
The day is over, turn the page
There’ll be another when you wake
Waiting in your cup of coffee
And you hear our mother coughing
As you whisper to her softly
But we still hear we every strain
We still hear every strain
And take me to the house where my mother rests her bones
In that chair she rests her bones
Quietly, unsuspecting throne
Lock me out, but don’t deny her what she owns
Because I don’t believe in heaven
No, I don’t believe in heaven
There’s a place that’s filled with flames
And it’s calling out my name
’cause I don’t believe in heaven
Lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns
Lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns…
And take me to the church where my father and my mother
Pray for me and my dear brother
While the angels undercover cursed our names…

CNN Larry King LIVE
American Idol Special
LOL – I never actually thought I’d be saying this again until next year January but...
The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on this morning’s CNN with Larry King American Idol Special.
To be honest, I didn’t know about this until suddenly Larry King appeared on the TV saying stuff about his meeting with David Cook and Runner-up David Archuleta♥ - and of course I couldn’t say to Archie!
David Cook was first interviewed by Larry King and I might add that his story on Idol was pretty interesting and stuff were let out that we’ve probably never know when watching Idol. David Cook thought that when he had hit the Top 24 spot he was going to stay for a week and then get eliminated. He told us that he came into the show with very little to almost no expectation of winning the show. His little brother Andrew Cook for so long wanted to audition on the show and this year he finally came up with the courage to do so and asked his big brother David Cook to come along as moral support. The twist that happened here was that the producers were first interviewing Andrew when they suddenly turned the camera to David Cook. He told them that he wasn’t there to audition and the producers said: well now you are!
I think what the public didn’t know was that Andrew and David auditioned together – David passed auditions but Andrew didn’t. David – who felt like he took his brother’s dreams away from him, asked Andrew first if he wanted him to push forward with Idol. Andrew replied: I’d kick your ass if you didn’t!
So David entered the competition with no expectations of even winning the show – he really thought that Archie was going to win. Larry King then brought p the subject about his little brother Andrew being ill. He has had a brain tumour for about a decade and is now fighting it. David Cook said that he didn’t want to bring it up on the show for Andrew didn’t want the people of America to not vote for him because of the issues behind the scene but based on David Cook himself.
---
Next, David Archuleta♥ was interviewed by Larry King who asked him if on Wednesday night he thought that Seacrest was going to call his name. Humbly, David Archuleta♥ said that he wasn’t expecting to win because even though the judges, especially Simon Cowell gave him tonnes of exclamation marks,
it really comes down to how you’ve expressed yourself from week 1 otherwise if it was just based on that one night – the other weeks would’ve been just a total waste.
To be honest – David Cook has actually done better than David Archuleta♥ throughout the past weeks but had let it go during the finale.
David Archuleta♥ wishes to continue with the music industry but stated that if it doesn’t go well with the music, he’ll be open to other opportunities that he’s interested in – he’s still very young! But I do hope he goes off to college and get an education. I CAN’T WAIT FOR HIS ALBUM! Archie also said that after the finale he had a talk with Simon Cowell about possibly teaming up with Jive Records and producing that album that millions are waiting for...
During the interview, David Archuleta♥ was really cute with his continuous smiling and nervous laughs: “You know like, I thought I was going home and you know like, they called me back, and I was like – we’re they talking to me? So I like kept on walking and they’re like – no come here – and I was like – uhhhh, okay – and they were like – you made it through...”
Yeap – he’s so totally high school material with his like you know... :D.
Larry King then brought up the subject of his Dad whether he was affecting any of his performances. David Archuleta♥ said that on some points he didn’t agree with his Dad’s advices but really appreciates how his Dad has been supporting him all the way. Archie also revealed that his Dad was practically his roommate during Idol – but he did have Chikezie as his roommate until he left.
---
Next, Cook and Archie sat down together in front of Larry King to be interviewed together. Each said that they thought the other was going to win – so really in the end it proves that both are winners and that David Archuleta♥ Is definitely a winner without even having the title. Larry King then showed the two what they’ve never seen before – the judges with Larry King talking about the two David’s somewhere about mid-April. Simon said that he would actually listen to someone like David Cook and clearly said that David Archuleta♥ is the one to beat.
He’s young, he’s got a good voice and he’s good looking you know – he’s got the teen and what I call nanny votes
.
---
Cook and Archie were then joined by Syesha Mercado who placed 3rd and Jason Castro who placed 4th on American Idol 2008. Jason was being he’s weird self as usual with the weird looks on his face whenever he’s sitting down in an interview – it was hilarious.
Larry King says to Syesha: What do you think about the two David’s?
Syesha: He’s always smiling and so humble – and David Cook you know, he’s always cracking joke... jokes and he’s really nice.
Larry King: I meant talent...
Syesha: Oh talent - *awkward pause* well we’ll let it speak for itself.
The hotspot was then turned to Jason Castro where the subject about Simon Cowell feeling frustrated thinking that Jason at one point had given up on the competition. Jason replied that he never gave up but was feeling pressured by having to do something new for the first time and that from week to week it just got too much for him to handle.
Larry King: Remember when Simon told you to pack your bags?
Jason Castro: Yeah...?
Larry King: Well did you pack your bags that night?
Jason: *quite voice* Yeah I kinda did...
LOL – that was funny.
Larry King also brought up the subject about Paula commenting on his second song when he had only sung his first song. David Cook said that he and Jason looked at each other for a second thinking whether the comment was actually meant for him seeing as they were standing next to each other that night. Jason said that he didn’t even look at Paula when she made that comment but was rather staring into the blue. Paula’s seeing stars Jason – she’s been doing crack, LOL.
---
The four were then joined by Brooke White who was eliminated before Jason Castro and Carly Smithson right before Brooke White. Larry started talking about Carly’s tattoos and why she has so many – well, Carly loves tattoos. Carly was also exposed about her album before she even joined Idol. David Cook took the liberty of replying to Larry King about the matter. David Cook believes that even if you’ve already had an album it shouldn’t give the producers a reason to disqualify the contestant.
To be honest – I seriously think that they should be disqualified because then it doesn’t give the other people out there who are just as good a chance of even getting onto American Idol because they are just too focused on those who are clearly better. But then I do agree with David Cook to a point that if you’ve got the voice and the talent then you should be on it. Maybe they allowed Carly to be on American Idol as he first debut album when she was known as Carly Hennessey wasn’t that great of a hit – washed up star on Idol doesn’t look that good.
Brooke was asked about her mishaps of forgetting lyrics on a reality show that is watched by millions of people. She said that when she sang ‘Every Breath I Take’ she didn’t actually forget the lyrics but didn’t start on her cue. But during Andrew Lloyd Webber week when she sang ‘You Must Love Me’ she really did forget her lyrics and just had to start over again.
Larry King: Jason, what do you think of Brooke?
Jason: *puts on weird face* What do I think of Brooke?
Larry King: Yeah as in talent...
Jason: Oh right... Talent *LOL* Well she was one of my favourite vocals from American Idol.
Larry King: Archie – what do you think of Carly?
Archie: She is amazing – she was like my Mama...
Carly: Yeah – I looked after him...
---
Ramiele Malubay, Kristy Lee Cook and Chikezie Eze was invited next and sadly Michael Johns couldn’t be with them for he was back in Las Vegas – who knows what he was doing there! But they did interview him separately in Las Vegas and aired him on Larry King. Michael thought it was a real shocker for him seeing as he was never in the bottom 3 and that night he got cut that night. He wasn’t necessarily upset because following his departure on Idol that week was 15 hours of press. The media kept telling him that he was ‘robbed’ and that made him feel good about himself. Larry King asked him if American Idol was aired back in Australia and he said that it was in fact aired on Fox in Australia. Johns also told us that he went back to Australia to surprise his parents – he was more surprised to know that everyone in Australia knew him.
After the nine Idols bid adieu to Michael Johns, Ramiele, Kristy Lee and Chikezie talked about their ride on Idol - Kristy Lee was friends with everyone but sometimes thought that if they were getting on her nerves she’d not be friends with them but then the next day they’d make up.
Ramiele thought that at some points she didn’t feel like it was her time to leave but then again some people liked this song or that song but not this song and she just happy to be touring with the Top 10.
Chikezie said that it was his fourth time trying out on Idol – and says that this season may have a knock on effect on his future career and just to make it to Top 12 was something.
David Hernandez and Amanda Overmeyer unfortunately weren’t invited to the show and won’t be touring with the Top 10 this Summer.
Larry King: Who do you think here has the most talent?
Archie♥: Well everyone, you know... *awkward silence as Archie♥ sits there so innocently smiling*
[Everyone laughs]
Larry King: Well thanks for leaving us hanging here!
LOL – it was really cute, if you actually watch it, you’d be like, awwwwwwwwwww~
Well the hour of Larry King is almost up and Larry King said that this year’s Top 10 will also be known as the American Idol Class of 2008 with a Year Book:
Biggest goof-ball – Michael Johns (it was a unanimous vote)
Most flirtiest – Michael Johns (a unanimous vote)
Most laid back – Jason Castro (a unanimous vote)
Best couple – Brooke & Dave (husband)
Syesha Mercado at this point was like – Best Couple? And started looking around the room when David Cook said: Brooke and Dave... Not us David’s but her husband Dave.
Biggest Brain – David Cook aka. Word Nerd (obviously a unanimous vote)
Most likely to get into trouble – Michael Johns (again a unanimous vote)
To be honest – I couldn’t agree more with the superlatives!
Larry King then wrapped up the show by asking the Idols what they’re going to sing during the Summer Tour...
David Cook: I’ll be singing the winning song ‘Time of My life’
Archie♥: Angels
Syesha: If I Ain’t Got You
Jason: I’m busting the ukulele
Larry King: Going to Hawaii I see?
[Everyone laughs]
Brooke: I’m going on the piano with ‘Let It Be’
Carly: Bring Me to Life by Evanesence
Kristy Lee: God Bless the USA
---
Ramiele & Chikezie I forgot :S I’m really sorry!
The show ended with a song from the nine Idols singing ‘Freedom.’ At one point they showed Archie♥ not singing but smiling and laughing his cute face off...
Larry King: Join them Archie!

I don’t know where to begin...
I’m seriously pissed off...
I’ll apologise now to anyone who feels insulted by this blog entry – it’s called freedom of speech...
Today I had my Science Practicals – no surprise there, just the usual stuff and I’m pretty confident with it; I just doubt A* or A – I might get a B, LOL.
Now here’s the twist – I’m so f*cking annoyed with the DJ’s here in Brunei – I mean, some people haven’t yet to watch American Idol, and already they announce on the radio who won. It’s f*cking annoying seriously – and it bugs me to be MAD instead of upset. What ever happened to respecting what other people may feel? Seriously I don’t feel eager now to even watch the show after knowing who won. DJ’s – you should be happy that I had just finished my lunch after hearing what you said; if not I wouldn’t have eaten at all. I seriously feel like calling into the radio and scolding the sh*t out of them.
Because I am seriously upset – I am in no mood to even blog about the show now... So for readers out there – you’re going to have to watch the show tonight if you want to know what happened...
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but...
Congratulations David Cook
David Archuleta
♥ in his SHORTS! Bleep - sexy legs XD.Guitar Hero Commercial. love love.I’m seriously so upset. One, towards the DJ’s and two that David Cook actually triumphed over David Archuleta♥! By 12 MILLION VOTES! It wasn’t even a close competition. You know what? It’s not even funny anymore – I even screamed by f*cking head off when the DJ announced that David Cook won and told me sister to turn the radio off! I mean, can’t they keep it to themselves? If people are seriously desperate to know they should go and look it up themselves even if they missed the show in the morning! Fuck.
Note to the people out there: If you even dare rub it in my face that David Archuleta♥ lost – you better stay away from me, and I’m serious about that. Call me a bitch if you want – but it’s seriously not funny. If people still even DARE to rub it in, I’m telling you in advance that I’m just going to walk away from you, don’t even be surprised if I shout in your face. I don’t care if you say ‘It’s just a show Ally, calm down’ then why don’t just stop rubbing it in?
I’m upset – but I’m not crying; actually I should be pitying David Cook. He performed really badly last night and made the people of America vote more for him just to make him win.
I still believe in Simon Cowell that David Archuleta totally knocked David Cook out last night. And I STILL believe that David Archuleta♥ will be more successful than David Cook.
Good Luck David Cook – no hard feelings...
But David Archuleta♥ is, and will FOREVER be my American Idol

It’s 10 minutes to American Idol and my laptop isn’t even charged! Damn it – now how am I supposed to plop in front of the TV with my laptop? Oh well – I’ll find a way to do so. IT’S THE FINAL TOP 2 AND I’M SO EXCITED, I JUST CAN’T HIDE IT!
But before we move onto Idol, I would like to blabber on about the perils of my oh-so wonderful life – can’t you tell I’m being sarcastic about the word ‘wonderful?’ No? Well fine then...
Today I had my French Writing Exam from like 3:45 – 4:30PM – what a drag it was. The scenarios were pretty easy which I must say might be the reason as to why I finished the paper 45 minutes earlier than finishing time. Impressive yeah? HAHA – not quite, because there’s always this twist about finishing a paper early; everything turns out to be wrong! Well I just hope that in my case, not everything is wrong! So like I said, I finished the paper a wee-bit early than due time and I was just so eager to finish checking through if my tenses and endings were correct. Why you might say? Well it was late afternoon which is the time where my brain falls out of place and KOs me. Yes – I fell asleep during the exam for like ten minutes where I wake up to check the time realising that we still have twenty minutes to kill. LOL – I even took out my scrap piece of paper and started writing lyrics down to the song ‘Imagine’ by John Lennon. Want to know why? David Archuleta♥ will be singing it tonight! Yes I know I spoilt myself my going onto rickey.org to speculate song choices. I really hope David Archuleta♥ knocks America dead to acquire all the votes he needs to win Idol! Anyway, I was seriously so bored that I scribbled down on the scrap piece of paper: ‘Voulez-vous cocher avec moi? Se soir?’ HAHA – well it was a French Exam right? Anyway, less than five minutes to Idol – time to find a way to put my laptop in front of the TV and finding a socket for my plug nearby!... The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s American Idol Top 2 finalists! This is going to be a nail-biting show for one mess up could cost one of our Idols dreams. Let’s make David Archuleta’s dream come true by crowning him the winner of American Idol 2008!
Tonight, as you might’ve read from my previous entry, the Top 2 finalists will be singing 3 songs: a previous one they’ve sung before, a new song and their coronation song from the American Idol songwriter competition. Okay, I’m leaving my laptop on the dining room table and coming back when commercials are on. I hate doing this for then I’d have to remember everything that happens and then type it up – oh well I have no choice...
*Note: Never let your sister drain the batteries out of your laptop.
OMG HAHA – the introduction to American Idol was so different yet so HILARIOUS! They introduced the show with a boxing commentator having David Cook in the red corner and David Archuleta in the blue corner wearing their boxing attires! It was hilarious seriously, I couldn’t stop laughing!
This year the finale takes place in the Nokia Theatre instead of the Kodak Theatre and I must say, the Nokia Theatre looks way better and fits more people – over 7,000 people are watching the show live in the arena – like WOW! David Archuleta♥ thinks that David Cook is a nice guy and you know, it all really comes down to having fun until the crowning of the winner and you just have to give it your all whether of not you win over the crowd...
Tonight’s show will consist of three rounds where Round 1 songs are picked by the legendary Clive Davis...
Last week – David Archuleta♥ won the coin toss and has decided to go second tonight, so the show opens tonight with David Cook performing “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” – I’m not trying to be biased since David Archuleta♥ has my vote, but I think that David Cook’s first performance was just OK and didn’t have me down in chills or tears.
David Archuleta performs next with “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” – OH MY GOSH! ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! David Archuleta♥ had me almost in tears during the song, and when they got to the judges comments, my tears drastically ran down my face... Randy thought he had the ‘crazy vocals’ and according to...
Simon: Round 1 goes to Archuleta!
OH MY GOSH I’M SO HAPPY! David Archuleta♥ is crying! Awwwww~
Round 2: Contestants Choices (New Song)
David Cook takes the stage once more performing Dream Big – I thought it was just another OK performance because for me the song he sang was a bit shouty and the problem is because with ‘rock’ music, the melody and beat seems to be more catchy than the real vocals itself. I seriously couldn’t even catch a single phrase or line from the song except for ‘Dream Big.’ Simon thought it didn’t sound like a winning song...
David Archuleta is back again with “In This Moment” – OH MY GOSH! Yet another brilliant performance by David Archuleta♥ and what a perfect song choice for him to sing ♪In this moment, no one will take it away from me...♫ He’s not letting David Cook take the crown from him! Simon commented on his song choice saying it was ‘egoistical’ but he meant it in a good way at least, because David Archuleta♥ has to pick the right songs in order to win American Idol!
Simon: Round 2 once again goes to David Archuleta. Round 3: Contestants Choices (Previous Song)
David Cook once again takes the stage with “The World I Know” – as I said earlier, I went on rickey.org to speculate the song choices for tonight’s performance and when I came across David Cook’s pick on previous songs he has sung, I was expecting him to have chosen “Always Be My Baby” – but no, he picked a song that he has never sung before in the past during his time on Idol. For me, I thought his take on “The World I Know” threw him off the bus – it wasn’t even a good performance and I didn’t feel the song. At the end of the song, Simon commented about his song choice and said that it was completely wrong. Even Simon had a say about how he should’ve chosen ‘Billie Jean’ or ‘Hello’ and once again David Cook shows the whole world the arrogant person he is.
David Cook: It’s called progressing, and why pick a song that I’ve already done?
David Cook dares say back at Simon Cowell after the comment he made towards David Cook about picking the wrong song. Cowell’s face on a scale of 1 to 10 was a ten on the ‘very-annoyed’ look. However, David Cook shed tears after his performance on this song...
At last but not least, for the last time on American Idol Season 7, David Archuleta♥ takes the stage to show the world one more time why he deserves to win American Idol 2008, with “Imagine” (a song that he has definitely done in the past during his time on Idol) by John Lennon. I must say that he changed the melody a bit to the first time he sang it and I pretty much must say that Simon Cowell wrapped up his whole performance...
Simon: ...Tonight we have witnessed a KNOCK OUT!
David Archuleta♥ looked like he was going to cry again – it’s so sweet.
Three – nil to David Archuleta♥!
DAVID ARCHULETA♥ IS IN HIS GAME TONIGHT AND WILL WIN AMERICAN IDOL 2008
Catch the Finale tomorrow night on Star World from 6:00 – 8:00PM
I know I won’t be missing the crowning moment!
