I would just like to start off saying that IGCSE Exams are coming up in less than a week and I’m so FREAKED out about it! But in any case – I will try – wait what am I saying? I WILL keep you guys updated on American Idol stuff because; of course I have to support David Archuleta♥ ‘til the end!
So yes, the American Idol is yet again back to give her reviews on tonight’s American Idol Top 4 – last week we bid adieu to the nanny Brooke White and are left with David Archuleta♥, David Cook, Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado.
This week the Top 4 contestants are to take on two songs yet again from the Rock ‘n’ Roll hall of fame. I was so freaked out when Ryan said that already ‘three’ of them had the Top votes – I’m so confident that David Archuleta♥ is one of them – and probably not Syesha Mercado. LOL – Luke Menard in the audience! – In case you’ve forgotten about him, he was eliminated before even making it into the Top 24 with Danny Noriega.
“LONG LIVE ROCK!”
I was surprised to hear Ryan Seacrest mention that the contestants would get their critiques AFTER each performance – I bet it’s to cover up Paula’s flubs if she plans on giving any tonight.
So, the show kicks off with David Cook performing “Hungry like the Wolf” by Duran Duran – honestly it’s not that good for me but he’s definitely in next week after that performance. Randy thought it was okay and solid and wonders who will give the HOT, cool vocals tonight. Paula... whatever... And Simon thought it was good but thought it was a bit copy cat unlike the other weeks where he made the song his own – I guess it’s hard to turn a ‘rock’ song into your own when your style is basically resting on ‘rock.’ But without a doubt – Simon agrees that his performance as of now is enough to keep him in the competition for another week.

Up next, Syesha Mercado performs “Proud Mary” by Tina Turner – let’s see… LOL Danny Noriega’s audition number with his really weird hair, but nonetheless, I know I shouldn’t be focusing on Danny (he’s just too hot okay?) but focusing on Syesha; okay so here’s my critique – I thought the start was weak but then I didn’t think she made any improvements throughout the song but showed some moves? I thought the moves were weird though, no offense to any Syesha fans. Randy thought though that Syesha for three straight weeks have shown some personalities – Paula too liked her poise and presence. Simon on the other hand thought it was just a bad, shriek-y version and bad impersonation of Tina Turner – GO SIMON COWELL! Could this be it for Syesha Mercado? Let’s wait and see from her second song…
CARLY SMITHSON IN THE AUDIENCE! Up next, Jason Castro performs “I Shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley – a perfect song to go with his dreads? LOL – I thought his overall performance was mediocre and not as outstandingly good as his rendition of ‘Hallelujah’ and ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ but I guess with this performance he could still get the votes! Randy thought it was very karaoke and wasn’t good for me. Paula… Whatever once again however she said she was crazy about the performance but always comments on how his ‘charm’ gets the best of her. Simon thought it was a first audition massacre! To be honest – the judges have seriously bombarded him – awww, he looks so sad. Could this be it for Jason Castro? I HOPE NOT!

David Archuleta♥ performs “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King – OMG! LOL – he’s wearing a shirt again for the second time on a performance night XD. When will I ever see him in shorts? :P. He DEFINITELY brought the house down tonight in the first round! I LOVE HIM♥ - the crowd can’t stop screaming! Randy claims that at least there is one guy who brings the house down with his vocals – DAVID A!!! IT WAS HOT Randy says. Simon... thought he struggled at the end a little bit but called it the best performance of the night so far! Ryan is so right – David always looks like he’s going to pass out after each performance before hearing what the judges have to say. I LOVE HIS LAUGHS – THEY’R SO CUTE! Let’s save David Archuleta all the way ‘til the end! ♪So darling, darling stand... by me...♫
First round up – and second round begins with David Cook once more performing “Baba O’Riley” by the Who – to be honest, this song is his best for tonight! I LOVED IT! David Cook is definitely moving on to Top 3! Randy thought he was great and tells him to be himself. Paula wants more of David Cook – ooooo~ What’s Paula going on about there? Simon says, “Welcome back David Cook.” LOL – are we looking at a David Cook shock elimination tomorrow night? HECK NO not after that performance!
RASCAL FLATS IN THE AUDIENCE! Syesha Mercado is back second for second round with “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke – WOW, Randy made Syesha cry – now that’s scary! I mean, I would understand if Simon made her cry but Randy? Ouch! Okay, get back on track, I thought that… HER DRESS WAS NICE! LOL – I liked Syesha’s beginning but then I thought she was a bit consistent throughout until the end – WOW blown off my seat! Randy did not like it because he didn’t like the arrangement and vocals and thought it was disconnected from him and was overdone. Paula disagreed and gave Syesha a standing ovation. Simon had to fair but then agrees with Paula and thought that Randy got it completely wrong. But hey! It’s a matter of opinion gosh!
Ryan: “Thanks for the buzz kill!”
Jason Castro is up next with “Mr. Tambourine Man” by Bob Dylan – I was so shocked that Jason forgot his lyrics! Could this determine his fate? I’m seriously very worried for him tonight! But then again we have the Syesha Mercado meltdown before… So who from the two? However – even though Jason’s obvious flub – this is truly his voice! Relaxing and calming! America can NEVER throw him off American Idol – NOT NOW! Randy actually asked Jason what he thought about the song but then says that Jason is not in his zone tonight… The song didn’t blow the people away, but it did for Paula. Simon says that he should pack his bags :S. SAVE JASON CASTRO PEOPLE! At least for just another week!
David Archuleta♥ closes the show with “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley (cover by Norah Jones) – OMG! David had me on the very first note of the very first lyric to the song! He gave me goosebumps and had me in tears! It was perfect and so tender! Randy thought it was tender too! Paula felt his heart and Simon thought that he didn’t beat the competition but he CRUSHED it! YAY FOR SIMON COWELL! David Archuleta♥ all the way! Oh yes, David, don’t forget... I LOVE YOU! ♪Love me tender, love me sweet... Never let me go...♫

So now it’s between Jason Castro and Syesha Mercado – and I’m going to hate myself for saying this but, I think Jason Castro is up for elimination tomorrow night UNLESS by some miracle Jason Castro fans vote extra to keep him in the competition for another chance to show off his true vocals and allure... Jason Castro – if you do get eliminated tomorrow night, never forget the many fans you have who helped keep you in the competition ‘til Top 4 baby!
