The American Idol addict is back with her reviews on tonight’s American Idol Top 5 elimination...
The show was kicked off with a group number for a tribute to Neil Diamond where Jason Castro took on the first solo of the night followed along with David Archuleta♥. David Cook then took on his solo followed by Brooke White and lastly Syesha Mercado. To be honest – Brooke’s solo part pretty much killed the whole song. David Archuleta♥ had to most solo parts throughout the song. I’m sorry to say I don’t know the song title as I’m not that familiar with Neil Diamond’s songs... I’ll give it a B+.
After the group performance – but wait; I saw a LOT of past idols in the crowd including, Kristy Lee Cook, Gina G (Season 5), Constantine M (Season 4) and Ace Young (Season 5)... Okay, getting back on track, Ryan showed a review of last nights performance, and wow I’m like still blown away from David Archuleta’s songs. Ryan then mentioned about Paula’s flubs last night and how they sparked up rumours on the Internet and claimed that the show being ‘rigged’ isn’t true... a big WHATEVER on her forehead.
Ryan then called Jason Castro up first to the stage and is... SAFE. Next Ryan called out David Archuleta♥ and he is... SAFE! Like of course – David Archuleta♥ all the way! *SCREAMS* I LOVE YOU DAVID ARCHULETA♥. So far, both Jason Castro and David Archuleta are back next week for a Rock n’ Roll hall-of-fame week. It was seriously so scary when Ryan mentioned that ‘it was a long road’ to Jason Castro. Normally I would take that as something bad since you know... It has been a long ride and to end it at that very moment is disappointing indeed. But for me, to even make it to Top 12 is something already.
After that, they showed a clip of what it takes to get into ‘So you think you can dance’ – Season 4 premiering soon. After that, it was back to results time and David Cook was called out next to the stage. David Cook... is SAFE! I cannot believe Paula said that she was ‘looking at the next American Idol.’ – NO WAY. David Archuleta♥ YES WAY! After that, Syesha Mercado and Brooke White were called to the middle of the stage which meant that they were in the bottom 2 tonight. Who is safe and who is leaving us tonight? Well, I don’t know yet – but my money is on Brooke White tonight for elimination. Well – they were directed to the sofas first as they still had a lot more on the agenda to do. Plus, it’s not even 7 o’clock yet... It will be in 26 minutes though...
So after the determination of tonight’s bottom 2, Natasha Bedingfield took the stage with a number – I’m sorry to say that I don’t recognise the song that she sang tonight. But does it really matter? I thought the performance was okay-ish though... Nothing spectacular that it had me jumping up and down from my seat... OH MY GOSH! She kissed David Archuleta♥! I’m so jealous right now! And she’s hugging him! NOOOOO! David Archuleta♥ take me to prom – not Natasha!
LOL. After the commotion, Ryan took some calls and one of them was for Paula Abdul and was questioned about why Paula always gives the contestants a break. Well, I seriously think that Paula is the worst judge ever out of the three judges. Now, the question that got me laughing my head off was the question that was aimed towards Simon Cowell. Apparently she was an old friend of Simon’s and she commented on how Simon always called the contestant’s performances ‘forgettable,’ and so asked him which was more memorable – the kiss with Paula or the kiss with her when they were 9 years-old. Simon blushed throughout and was surprised to know that his first kiss/crush called into the show. Ryan made sure to the children that were watching the show that ‘nine-years-old is too young to kiss.’
After the many laughs shared among my family, Neil Diamond takes the stage with a performance, ‘Pretty Amazing Grace.’ It was good and my mom thought that he sounded like David Cook – whatever! Actually yeah, overall I think it was a grade B performance – maybe it’s because I’m not that fond of his songs. It’s funny because he had the crowd on their feet and continuously cheering for him... Oh well. Neil had some advice for the contestants and that was to ‘not listen to Simon.’ LOL. But he loves Simon though.
After Neil Diamond’s performance, Ryan got back to the results and Brooke White started crying even before Ryan even revealed who from the two were to leave tonight. Ryan then got straight to the point that... Brooke White would be leaving tonight. It was funny how when Ryan mentioned her name she was like, “Yeah...” Brooke White knew it was coming and I don’t blame her for crying – it’s a sad moment for her so she has the right to let her tears fall. At least it shows that she had really put her heart into the competition. She kept on choking in the middle of her song and after couldn’t face the audience anymore. I don’t hate her... It was just her time to go...
My bold prediction – Syesha Mercado is up next for elimination and David Archuleta♥ will be crowned the winner of the American Idol 2008 :).
and also...
